Solutions for Major Projects

Solution / Contract:
STW Capital Works Programme
CLIENT:
Amey
DURATION: 6 YEARS
OVERVIEW
Go Traffic Management oversaw the delivery of traffic management to support Amey in the delivery of capital works projects for Severn Trent Water. The GTM teams successfully delivered over 5,038 traffic management operations across the East and West Midlands area. The works were based on a schedule of rates commercial mechanism and formed part of a regional Go Traffic Management delivery model. Over the duration of the contract with Amey, GTM maximised efficiencies by adopting a regional traffic management model, sharing combined resources with other Midlands based contracts. Go Traffic Management achieved targets set for service level agreement performance.
APPROACH
The outcome of this project relied heavily on effective communications between the traffic management teams and Amey. The system integration and implementation of GARD was a key factor in supporting Amey effectively. Using the GARD system allowed regular updates and information to be passed to working teams quickly and maintained data standards.
SUCCESSES
1. Reduced off-site time and hire periods
The use of Go Traffic Management’s GARD system which interfaced with Amey’s back office enabled reduced off-site times and hire periods. GARD delivered live information from site, together with photographic evidence of traffic management site set up and site clear. All operatives carried mobile devices from which GARD was accessed.
2. Delivering efficiencies
Whilst GARD helped to reduce Streetworks liabilities and reduce off-site times, other combined activities such as regional reinstatement contributed to productivity improvements of >20%.
