Network Plus group of companies wins MEN Business of the Year Award 2022

Last week the Network Plus group of companies was the proud recipients of the “Business of the Year: Turnover £100m+” award at the prestigious MEN Business Awards 2022. This award recognises the dedication, value and success of our teams across all the Network Plus group, including GTM. It was a highly competitive process and great to see the continued rise of successful business across the region.

With our headquarters in Greater Manchester, Network Plus delivers services for a number of utility and infrastructure clients in the city region and across the North-West, with GTM providing expert traffic management services across the area. As a rapidly growing company, with a long history of providing crucial services to help keep Manchester’s infrastructure running and traffic flowing; our hundreds of team members operating in the area ensure our impact on the local community is positive and alongside our company passion for adding social value we make a real difference.

Joint Chief Executive, Dan Holland said, “It was a great honour to win the ‘Business of the Year’ in our category at the MEN Awards last week. Although we provide vital utility, infrastructure and traffic management services to clients across the UK, Manchester holds a special place in our hearts,” said Stuart Fraser, joint CEO at Network Plus. “In the Greater Manchester area, we support clients serving a population of 2.7m with essential services including water, gas, transport and traffic management from our headquarters. We need a strong team to deliver these services and take us forward, which is why we provide opportunities for apprentices, graduates and young trainees within the local area.”

GTM Operatives never cease to amaze me

These GTM Operativess never cease to amaze me every year they turn out in support to close a major artery in Chesterfield including high speed lane closures with almost military precision on timings…nothing is ever an issue they always have smiles on there faces and join in with the atmosphere for almost 3500 walkers this year. Without them we couldn’t host such an event of this magnitude.

Immaculate traffic management

Your approach to working so easily with us has been a real credit…it is so nice to be able to rely on somebody, even the events that were completely out of your control. It has been priceless having a presence on site throughout this project. The traffic management has always been immaculate and in really good order.

GTM has supported my career path

I started working for GTM in July 2021 as a traffic Management operative…I then got extra training and achieved my M3-M5 Lantra qualification, GTM has supported my career path and I gained my HGV class 2 licence. I was offered a supervisors role I took the opportunity and each day a boosted my confidence.

I have now being enrolled on a 2 year scheme to start my SHEQ role in Health & Safety. GTM is a place you can climb the ladder to better your career path.

As a Graduate CAD Technician, I have the opportunity to work on a range of exciting projects and developed my skills in this industry. The company has provided excellent training and support, and I feel valued as a member of the team.
