Jenson Button Triathlon

GTM successfully delivered traffic management for another sports event, this time the Jenson Button Triathlon! The event is in its fourth year and this year’s triathlon was held in Derby’s Markeaton Park on Sunday 12th July raising money for Cancer Research UK. More than 500 triathletes completed a 200m swim, 10km bike and 2.5km run and got the chance to race against Jenson Button and Gordon Ramsey raising money for a very worthy cause.

GTM attended meetings with the event organisers to fully understand the requirements of the day and to advise them on routes to minimise traffic disruption. Traffic management included road closures, lane closures and diversion routes to make the event safe for all participants, spectators and drivers.

“I would like to thank you and your team for the very successful Jenson Button Triathlon in Derby down to your planning of closure points and manning of key sections around the route to ensure a safe area for all. Just to let you know that Jenson Button liked the course so much that we are planning another Triathlon next year around Derby, I will be in touch closer to the date” – Claire Duffin, Huub Events.
